Step-by-step guide:
Step 1: Connect the VCI to the OBDII port of vehicle

Problem: Today i try to add a key to a Porsche Cayenne 2008 with Autel IM608.
Read data from ecu me7 -ok
7th bytes from working key – ok
Make dealer key – ok
Program key – no ok
Lost communication with car when i want to program.
The original key can always start the car. Any solution?

Solution 1)
Just went through this a couple days ago. I had to jump fuse 26 and 36 to wake up car gateway aka cluster and then used VVDI2 to do key learn with pin I got from Autel, because Autel kept losing communication, if you go under diagnostic and talk to Kessy you’ll see it talks just fine but some glitch in the learning process.
just put power to the car normally and then jump the power from a full time fuse like 36 to the one that needs to be powered up 26.
You might be able to do it through diagnostic mode using same instructions as vcds and a PIN code like you would with earlier Volkswagens.
Solution 2:
the solution was to pull kessy and eeprom it then make key on bench.. ended up being quicker than trying to add the key obd2

Autel MaxiIM IM608 Scan Tool is able to program a used transmission controller(EGS reset) for 2015 BMW X3 by OBD successfully. Following I’ll show how to do.
Problem
This is 2015 BMW X3 with a diesel 3.0 turbo engine. This car is getting a transmission swap, and new transmission is already installed. This transmission will not let us put the car to drive or reverse. It will not disengage from park basically even if does. It will jump right back to park. The reason is because there’s a password between CAS module which is the immobilizer and the transmission. If the code does not match, the car will not shift apart. The car will start, but you will not be able to move anywhere. So I have to erase the eprom basically and reset it back to the factory settings on the section where it holds its immobilizer information.
Preparation
When you’re programming this kind of vehicle, especially with German cars like BMW or Mercedes, you must be careful. You need to have a stable voltage supplier & clean power. As you can see, I have set it up to 13.5 volts and left it on the flashing setting of the device.
Procedure
Connect Autel IM608 Key Programmer with OBD, press
IMMO >> Accept >> BMW >> Smart selection >> EGS transmission system >> EWS_EGS status
It says:”Authorization failed.”
So I’m going to go ahead and fit it.

There’s a problem: file does not exist. Better to continue, it’s okay. I’m not worried about the coding because I can record and reprogram this. Do a software update or just do regular coding.

I don’t know why encoding failed occurs on this particular car. All I need to do is to do coding.
I like Autel IM608 immobilizer tool, it does the right job every time for me so far. If you do have an IM608 already, you don’t have to worry about that. Because you can recode and reprogram this device without any issues.
Reprogramming an old smart 453 key, 2018, Password (immediately) – ok and after learning both Keys – Total 5 minutes with Autel IM608. With voltage stabilizer.
When you go to program a key on Smart 453 you have to launch the command “read password” and autel first reads the flash then rewrites it and at the end gives the password.
In my hand Working key – and addition of an older key, from the same car. The process took less than 5 minutes with battery support. No Akl process.
Did 2 weeks ago one smart 453 2016 need to read password in i think about 25 minutes.

Autel adds all smart keys lost function for some models as of 2021 including Outback and Legacy with the large vertical dash screens.
People have done a few even 2022. You are able to generate analog key under smart key.
2020 Outback (new system) all keys lost was done by autel im508 and Apb112. Worked great. This was just added in the last update for this system.
Generate analog key then add smart key.
If you do the job with an autel with the help of the apb112 your AKL scenario becomes an add key scenario no need to smart box reset. It reads the immo data from the vehicle and then creates a temporary smart key to turn on the ignition. Then you add a new smart key.
If you cannot read eeprom to generate analog key for other 2020+ Outback and Legacy new system, you need to change new smart box and steering lock or access with SSM4
