Hello, guys! Today I’m going to show how to add a new key for the 2006-2012 Chevrolet Captiva. The tools that will be used are Xhorse VVDI Key Tool MAX & OBDSTAR X300 DP PLUS. As for the new key, I would consider the Xhorse XELEX0EN Super Remote for a try.

It’s very easy to finish in 2 steps. So, let’s get started.

Step 1. Generate Remote
Put the new key into VVDI Key Tool MAX slot,
Vehicle remote >> Chevrolet >> Captive >> Captiva 08-15 ASK 433 >> Generate remote
Burn success.
 

Step 2. Add Key
IMMO >> Americas >> GM >> Latest version >> Remote >> Select from vehicle >> Chevrolet >> Captiva >> 2006-2012 >> Add remote

Within 1 minute, at the same time hold each Lock & Unlock button of the remote until the vehicle sound.
 

Completed!
Very fast and amazing.

Test the new key, remote works OK.

Unlocking and renewing a 6-Button Fobik key fob using the Xhorse VVDI Key Tool Max

The Chrysler 6-button Fobik key fob is cheap $8 only.  But if the key wasn’t programmed to car and did not work so we can renew it.

Select Remote Renew-Remote Renew- Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge- IYZ C010C M3N5W785

Check wiring diagram and connect remote with xhorse key tool max via renew cable

Press UNLOCK

Renew in process, wait until finished

Now the remote works successfully.
We can also get the actual renew adapters that xhorse sells. It’s much easier and less time consuming than soldering the wires to renew. It also helps renewing when you try to find some of the older BMW or Mercedes keys that are always sold out that you can buy used keys that need renewed.

Xhorse VVDI Key Tool Max PRO is able to add BMW CAS3 IMMO key by OBD. Following I’m gonna show how to do.

1. Read IMMO Data

Plug Key Tool Max PRO cable into OBD interface.

Insert working key to turn ignition on.

Immo programming >> BMW >> Automatically diagnose models

The current system type is detected as CAS3++(ISTAP), about to enter the system operation interface, please wait…

Read key information >> Yes – add key >> Yes

Warning: this operation requires the CAS to be installed on the car, and operation on the platform may cause the steering lock failure!

Press “Yes” to continue.

Current CAS is ISTAP version, we need flash CAS firmware to continue OBD operation.

Flash firmware need about 10 minutes. Make sure your notebook and car with enough power.

Suggestion1: if the car is low power, supply extra power to car.

Suggestion2: if you have enough time, you can read CAS flash and eeprom before continue.

Press “Yes” to start flash CAS firmware.

The dealer key should be taken away from ignition switch.

If key is keyless, please move it out of car.

If there’s no key in ignition, continue anyway.

Press “OK”.

Wait processing…

Insert key to ignition and switch on.

The dealer key should be taken away from ignition switch.

If key is keyless, please move it out of car.

If there’s no key in ignition, continue anyway.

2. Make Dealer Key

Prepare dealer key with programmer >> Select key position: key 3

CAS key data is encrypted, support make dealer key for it. Once failed, please contact the dealer!

Try BMW protocol…

Please put new key into VVDI Key Tool Max PRO programmer.

Is the current key a smart key? No

Make dealer key success

3. Add Key

Add key >> Yes

Please put new key into VVDI Key Tool Max PRO programmer.

Try BMW protocol…

Is the current key a smart key? No

The dealer key should be taken away from ignition switch.

If key is keyless, please move it out of car.

If there’s no key in ignition, continue anyway.

OK>> OK

Wiring data success.

New dealer key success written to CAS system.

You can start engine with new key now. If cant, please use the original working key first.

The new key can start the engine.

And its remote works fine.

Good tool for start. I did plenty of VW, Mazda, Honda with this one.

i use it everyday on French cars and odd other thing. Like Opel Astra j. Some fords like newer models. If don’t what clone Kia then pull pin off key then program with mini. Lot Honda fine too. For price it’s handy.
