I used VXDIAG Multi Tool for the first time on my daughters car and it revealed a lot of information about the problems she was having. I had used a simple code scanner prior to this and though it showed the codes, didn't help much with the diagnosis. I now have the info I need to make the right repairs without a bunch of unnecessary parts swap. I was hesitant to spend this much on a diagnostic tool, but now glad I did.

I put a lot of thought into this purchase in advance and researched several tools. This system seems to be a lot of bang for the buck. I know it is a hefty investment. Consider however that OBD II isn't going away anytime soon. Nearly any car you buy in the future is going to be an OBD II vehicle. If you do your own repairs this tool will greatly increase your diagnostic capability in conjunction with a good service manual. It may take a few years, but between a good bidirectional OBD II scanner and a service manual you should be able to recoup your investment by not paying someone else for repairs. I'm not making a sales pitch, just sharing the thought process I went through.
 

If you want a very capable, usable scanner that has good vehicle coverage for not a lot of money, the VXDIAG is a solid choice. Don't get me wrong. I really like the VXDIAG and it has saved me significant amounts of time on some repairs. I probably couldn't have done much better with any other brand and I don't regret buying it at all. It will probably do almost everything you want.
